The China Taxpayers Union (Preparatory Committee) is formerly knownas the tax personnel branch of Beijing International Taxation Research Institute.The branch, after learning that Taiwan's taxpayers' organization had repeatedlyasked to join the WTA, resolutely applied for admission to the WTA at its biennialconference, which was held in Brisbane, Australia on November 20, 2004 in thename of Beijing Taxpayers Organization. At that time, the WTA is composed of 52taxpayer organizations from 40 countries.
OnSeptember 23, 2014, due to the restructuring of the Beijing International TaxationResearch Institute, representatives of taxpayers' organizations from altogether7 provinces and 1 municipality (Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Xinjiang, Shandong,Henan, Liaoning and Beijing) convened a meeting in Beijing and unanimouslydecided that the work for taxpayers will be still in the charge of the formertax personnel branch of the Beijing International Tax Research Institute, and thereuponestablished the China taxpayers Union (Preparatory Committee), which exists sofar.
Objectivesof the China Taxpayers Union is to abide by laws, regulations and relevantnational policies; to adhere to developing services through science, jointlybuilding a harmonious taxation, and promoting tax administration according tolaw; to provide professional services for members, safeguard the legitimaterights and interests of taxpayers, and improve the tax compliance of taxpayers;to function as a bridge link between tax authorities and taxpayers; to guideall members to make even newer and greater contributions to building a well-offsociety in an all-round way and thereby accelerating socialist modernization.
